Playing in only his tenth first-class match, Bradman, nicknamed "Braddles" by his teammates, found his initial Test a harsh learning experience. Caught on a sticky wicket. In the 1928-29 season, the selectors for Ashes dropped him to 12th man for the second Test after scores of just 18 and 1. However, Bradman scored 79 and 112 in the Third Test to become the youngest player to score a Test century.
